Tallo Cerebral: Regula el estado fisiológico del cuerpo. Contiene la región de la médula y el tálamo.
Médula: Regula la respiración y los latidosdel corazón. Es una extensión del cerebro de lo más sencilla en organización y función. Protege al cuerpo de algún daño iniciando con los reflejos.
Formación Reticular: Hace reaccionar al cuerpo para atender los estímulos hasta cuando dormimos. Desempeña una función central en la coordinación de moviemientos y regula la atención, sueño y vigilancia.
Puente: Regula la actividad del cerebro cuando dormimos. Es la zona que ayuda a coordinar los movimientos rápidos del cuerpo.
Tálamo: Regresa información entre los sentidos y la corteza cerebral; es un conjunto de neuronas. La mayor parte de la información pasa por aquí.
Cerebelo: Organiza el equilibrio y movimiento físico. Controla la postura.
